A home screen widget with today's moon phase, sunrise and sunset, and tides.
I was constantly checking online:
when is the next full moon?
how is the tide right now?
when is the next low tide?
what time is the sunrise/sunset?
So I built this app to check all that for me and put the info in a widget so I don’t even need to open it.
Features
Every widget size shows the same four things, with the larger sizes saying more about each:
the current moon phase with an image
the date of the next full moon
the next sunrise or sunset, whichever comes first
whether the tide is rising or falling, and when it reaches the next high or low
It comes in small, medium and large sizes, plus the three lock screen styles. The app itself is for setup, settings and a dashboard of today’s data.
The data comes from Stormglass.io free api. Because they allow 10 requests a day for free, the app pull data twice a day and update the widget from the cache.
The data pulled is based on my geolocation so I get the correct info when I travel.
